Lake Park is a favorite destination for recreational
area in Fort Myers. It is 279 acre park with 158 acres of fresh water to
enjoy swimming, fishing, and canoeing. There is a 2.5 mile paved natural
walk available for running, skateboarding, rollerblading, and biking. The
Fragrance Garden is a unique experience to relax and learn about the natural
wildlife around them. The park also includes picnic areas, concession
stands, miniature train ride, boat rentals, and showers. |

If you love to give your taste buds
some exercise you will enjoy Fort Myers' Taste of the Town. On the first
Sunday in November in Centennial Park and attracts around 15, 000 people
with all the area's best restaurants. Such as Prawnbroker Restaurant, Iguana
Mia, and Fish Market. Children under 10 are free! |

With alligators, wild pigs, otters, and more you are
guaranteed to become one with nature at the Six Mile Cypress Slough
Preserve. With birds that come down during the dry season such as herons and
egrets which flock to the flag ponds. To get up close and personal with the
animals there is a 1.2 miles boardwalk which winds through the 2,200- acre
wetland. |

This 105
acre Calusa Nature Center and Planetarium is a non profit, private,
environmental education organization. With a museum, three nature walks,
butterfly and bird aviaries, a Planetarium, gift shop, and picnic areas. The
kids will learn about the endangered birds and butterflies along with the
planets. |

Manatee Park is a place to enjoy the West Indian
Manatee in its natural habitat. They travel down to Manatee Park,
attracted by the warm waters during the Fall and Spring time months. The
park is 16-acres with viewing areas, fishing piers, picnic areas,
canoeing through the Orange River. |
